Holo Humpday: Glam Polish New Girl in Town

Hello sweeties! Happy April 1st aka April Fools Day! I’m blanking on any type of pranks this year. My husband is out of town and I’m working, so there’s no one fun to prank anyways. I used to love lighthearted pranks in college – I lived in a suite connected to my best friend’s room, and that dear girl is one of the most gullible people in the world! My favorite prank was when I snuck into her room and stole one of each of her shoes. Then when she noticed something was wrong, she accused me of taking the shoes (because there wasย obviously a history of me pranking her at that point). So I put on a big act and was super offended that she would even suggest I’d do that… and once she felt really bad and apologized, I pulled the huge garbage bag full of her shoes out of my closet and gave it to her. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m such a good friend lol!

OK anyways – onto the holo for the day! Because it’s Holo Humpday y’all! And today I have another beauty from Glam Polish. New Girl In Town is another gorgeous holo from the Hairspray collection, and I LOVE IT!

Glam Polish New Girl in Town

Glam Polish New Girl in Town

YAAAAASSSS!! Now the above picture makes the polish look a bit more orange-leaning, but it’s really more pinky coral in real life. But YES! I adore this polish!

This pic is more true to color. It’s almost a neon, it’s so vivid coral!

And the scattered holo is so beautiful as well. It’s not in-your-face strong, but it’s always there no matter the lighting.

I think this time of year is the perfect time for a coral holo because the sun is just starting to come out to play. It also makes you look more tan, which is always nice! I’m all about looking like I’m not actually Casper, so this is perfect for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Casper the friendly ghost

Oh, Casper the friendly ghost! Devon Sawa was my jam – anyone remember him? He was like catnip for tweens in the mid-90s.

Anyways, I digress… here’s a closeup of New Girl in Town:

So pretty!! I do love this holo so much!

What do you think? Are you as much a fan of coral polishes as I am? Are you doing anything silly for April Fools? Are you usually the pranker or the prankee? And please tell me someone remembers Devon Sawa as Casper!!

And now for your daily David Tennant:

Holo Humpday: Glam Polish Ladies Choice

Hello my sweeties! Today’s holo is Glam Polish Ladies Choice. From all the polishes in the recent Hairspray collection, this was the one I was most excited about. Teal holos are my jam!

Glam Polish Ladies Choice

This color is gorgeous! It’s a perfect teal/ turquoise, but it also has this lavender purple shimmer with a little bit of a duochrome feel. I have a ton of pictures of this baby because I was trying to capture every little shimmer or shift!

Glam Polish Ladies Choice

The holo is pretty strong too! I loved this when it first touched my nails – it’s such a perfect color for spring!

The longer I wore this polish, I began to notice that the lavender shimmer gives it almost a frosty feel in certain lighting. I’m not a huge fan of frosty polishes, and it made me sad that this beauty leaned that way.

And a pic that shows you the almost frosted look:

So yeah, if you’re not into frosts you may not like this polish. But it really only looks frosty in certain lighting. It’s otherwise pretty damn stunning!

What do you think? Do you like frosty polishes or ones that can lean frosty?

Oh and in case you’re suffering from midweek blues, here you go:

Holo Humpday: Glam Polish Welcome To The 60s

Hello sweeties! I have a quickย post for you today. A bit ago, I had just gotten into Glam Polish and made multiple purchases. This beauty is one of them! Welcome To The 60s is from the Hairspray Collection, and I adore it!

Glam Polish Welcome To The 60s

Glam Polish Welcome To The 60s

Welcome To The 60s is a light yellow gold holo/ microglitter interspersed with small white and pink-toned hexes. As you can imagine, it’s super sparkly!

When looking at this from afar, all you really see is the gold holo/ microglitter. But looking at it up close, the hexes come through and make it more interesting!

Here’s a bottle shot:

This polish was full coverage in 2 coats, but I dabbed on a third… for no good reason. I think I just wanted to keep going haha! ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you think? Do you like holos with other glitter in them?

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for your sweet birthday wishes! It’s so nice to see these birthday wishes all across social media – I feel so loved!! Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Holo Humpday: Glam Polish You Can’t Stop The Beat

Hello sweeties! I’m working on very little sleep – I just realized that I lost one of the posts from this past Friday. Maybe I deleted it or wrote Monday’s post over it? I have no idea… it’s just gone. So since I’m wandering around in a sleep-deprived trance, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking for this post!

This is Glam Polish You Can’t Stop The Beat!

This polish GLOWS in person! There’s a pinkish orange leaning red holo base with golden and blue microglitters interspersed throughout.

It is just SO gorgeous in person!

This was another one of those “WORK IT GURRL” moments as I took these pics! This polish is a total winner! I wore it as the base for a holiday jelly sandwich, but I wanted to share it with you alone!

So yeah… love this one! And now it’s time for me to hibernate for the rest of winter ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have this beauty? Or have suggestions for other Glam Polish items to pick up?

Holo Humpday: Glam Polish Mount Doom

Hello my sweeties! I’m sitting here watching crappy television and admiring my nails… typical weekday night for me! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I find that mindless crappy TV can be so relaxing – just give me a glass of wine and bring on the Housewives!

Aaanyways, the nail polish I’m admiring right now is Glam Polish Mount Doom. I recently gave in and made my first (and second shortly thereafter) Glam Polish purchase, and I can’t believe I didn’t try them out before! They make some stunning sparkly polishes, and the quality is always great. Mount Doom is from the Epic Journey collection from this past summer and is based on Lord of the Rings!

Isn’t this one gorgeous? It’s this duochrome shimmery holo that shifts from pinkish purple to indigo blue. The shift is really subtle, but you can at least see the pinkish tinge in the pics.

Here’s a closeup:

And another closeup:

See how different it looks in slightly different lighting? I love that! When I looked at the other polishes in this collection, they all looked beautiful. The Epic Journey collection was limited edition, but I think there are still a few available on the site!

What do you think? Do you have any Glam Polishes? How about guilty TV pleasures?

Holiday Party Manicure

So I intended to do a manicure for my Holiday Party yesterday, but I ended up staying late at work with no time to both get dressed AND do my nails. While I personally would prefer to have my nails done than wear pretty clothes, I didn’t think it’d be good for my career to show up naked with a great manicure. But I’d like to show you what I would have done if I had the time!

My Holiday Jelly Sandwich Manicure

My Holiday Jelly Sandwich Manicure

I don’t do jelly sandwiches often enough, so I thought I’d glitz one up for a holiday party- appropriate mani! I wanted a good cheery red, and what better way to glitz things up than to add a bunch of glitter?

Here’s a closeup:

Glitter jelly sandwich manicure

It’s like a pretty ornament!

Polishes used:

  • Base color: Glam Polish You Can’t Stop The Beat… this is an absolutely amaaaazing polish!! It’s this gorgeous pinky orange-leaning red scattered holo with golden shimmer. I definitely need to show y’all this baby on its own someday!
  • Glitter gradient: Essie Set in Stones (silver multisize hex glitter) and Orly Mermaid Tale (emerald green multisize hex glitter)
  • Jelly topper: Zoya Paloma… this is a purple leaning raspberry sheer jelly. It transformed the base color and glitter nicely without covering it too much. It did, however, make the emerald green glitter blue (I guess purple + green = blue).

Anyways if I did this one again, I’d probably do without the green glitter (seeing as how it doesn’t even look green with the jelly topper). But otherwise I really like this! I love that the holo still shines through – the jelly just gives it more depth.

What do you think? What are your favorite jelly sandwich combos? What’s on your nails for holiday parties?
